Fall Workshops and Charcoal Portraits!
Back to school, back to learning. Why not enroll your teen in my November workshop at Peninsula Art Academy? This month we'll be working with oils -- all materials provided. And it's always the right time to commission a charcoal portrait of that favorite person in your life. Relaxed sittings make it easy for kids of all ages! Cost per workshop is $30, which includes all materials.
Specifically geared to teens, 13 and older (or with instructor's permission), these monthly workshops are a great way for teens to explore new techniques and mediums and to meet like-minded artists. To register for classes, visit Peninsula Art Academy at www.peninsulaartacademy.com.

Emphasis will be on color mixing, composition and building observational skills as students work with oil on canvas.
Children's Concert Society Violin Project
Here's an unusual canvas ... a violin! I was invited to paint a violin for a fundraiser to support the Akron Children's Concert Society. I created "Night Air" using shimmering blue, purple and gold paints with accents of Swarovski crystals. Look closely and you'll see some favorite constellations. The violins and other work from the artists were on display at a variety of locations before they were auctioned off in April. A wonderful opportunity and a really neat organization!

My guest last year was none other than Susan B. Anthony, aka Belinda Wing, President of the League of Women Voters of Hudson. I had a great time capturing her in oil ... who knew Susan B. was so much fun!
